The Classic Catering People officially launched the Sports Catering Division with the inaugural steeplechase race in 2001, The Legacy Chase at Shawan Downs and served 7,000 people invited to more than 35 corporate tents on the course in Hunt Valley, Maryland. In 2003, The Classic Catering People continued with the Legacy Chase and has entered into catering for the PGA Champions Tour. Peter Jacobsen Productions, a national sports marketing and management company, hired Classic to cater the seven-day event, held at Hayfields Country Club in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

The Preakness Stakes Corporate Village, Major League Baseball's All-Star Game, Pam Shriver's Celebrity Tennis Tournament, Volvo Round the World Race, OpSail Baltimore 2000 and the Army/Navy game 2000 also relied on The Classic Catering People to put together the winning plays for fans of all ages.

Client references have also taken The Classic Catering People to Inauguration 2001, Super Bowl XXXV in Tampa, Florida as well as aboard the Amtrak Metroliner and Acela Express. During the summer months, The Classic Catering People provide on-the-road and training camp catering services for the Baltimore Ravens, ten sports organizations in the National Football League, National Basketball League and National Hockey League, golf tournaments and celebrity tennis challenges.
