Michael Dopkin-Founder
Instilled with an entrepreneurial spirit that forged the beginnings of The Classic Catering People, Founder Michael Dopkin believes that food service was a natural progression for him and his late wife/partner Ansela. "Food has been the center of my life for as long as I can remember. Whether it was family holiday celebrations, my time as a food broker or the fact that Ansela's father owned a meat packing company---all avenues of our lives directed us to carving a niche in the food industry."
Harriet Dopkin-Partner/President
A graduate of St. John's College and the first classically trained chef in the family, Harriet Dopkin had the opportunity to immerse herself in the culture and cuisine of many different countries via travels throughout the United States, Europe and Japan. "Living in different parts of this country and the world has certainly provided an education in ingredients and preparation methods. When the culinary team meets to create menus, all of our experiences are shared to create recipes that often time become classic offerings for generations."

From The Beef Inn (a fast food-family style restaurant) to The Bagel Place and Classic Restaurant Management, Inc. (Alonso's, Loco Hombre, Miss Shirley's and multi- locations of Classic Café Express and Coffee by Classic), Eddie Dopkin had led the charge for continued diversity. "We have been very fortunate that, via the reputation of The Classic Catering People, we have had the ability to develop new concepts. The greatest compliment is when our clients enjoy the many facets of what we bring to the table---a formal party, coffee and a pastry before boarding the train at Penn Station or an Alonso's burger with friends after the movies."
Larry Frank-Partner/Vice President Catering
Bringing more than 15 years of hotel catering and convention services experience at Hyatt Hotels with him, Larry Frank reteamed with his family in 1997 to direct the growing full-service catering division. "One of the main strengths of the team at Classic is based in the different experiences we collectively bring to the client. Whether the affair is a black tie gala, our growing sports catering division or a family celebration such as a wedding or bar/bat mitzvah, these specialized teams becomes 'a company within a company,' educated in the nuances of the event."
