Position Purpose:

The Classic Catering People is looking for the right person to join our team of Event/Banquet Managers for our off-premise catering business in the Baltimore area. This person is responsible for the “day of” oversight of the clients event. They engage with the client on the day of their event in order to make sure that the clients event is an exceptional moment in their life.

The Classic Catering People is dedicated to bringing people together over memorable cuisine. We are one of the leading off premise full service and drop-off catering companies in the Baltimore Metropolitan area. Responsibilities:

Timely and accurate set-up, service and break down of all party/events ensuring all policies and procedures are followed while adhering with required safety standards.

Managing, coaching and developing the servers, bartenders and utility staff while holding them accountable to required performance requirements.

Working closely with the team of chefs with respect to menu questions from customers.

Being the face of The Classic Catering People, meaning the candidate exhibits a strong work ethic, curiosity to learn, efficiency, quick learning skills and delivers excellence at all times.

Being warm and gracious, outgoing, energetic, service-oriented and possessing excellent communication skills.

Maintaining a professional and well-kept personal appearance.

Being organized, possessing the ability to follow direction, being forward thinking and having the ability to problem solve on your feet while maintaining composure with customers.

Being a team player and possessing a positive attitude.

Qualifications:

  • A calm and organized mindset.
  • Excellent communicator who can positively motivate a team.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a restaurant, catering or dining room management capacity.
  • Serve Safe and Alcohol Awareness training strongly preferred.
  • Ability to be flexible and able to accommodate early mornings, daytime, nights, weekends and holiday hours.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
