What the Hall of Honor Means to Us

At the Restaurant Association of Maryland Awards Gala, The Classic Catering People were inducted into the Hall of Honor.

It is a big deal. But not in a loud, over the top way. More in a steady, this means something kind of way.

This recognition is not about one great event or a strong year. It is about time. About showing up over and over again and doing the work the right way.

For more than 40 years, this company has been part of meaningful moments across Baltimore. Weddings, corporate events, celebrations. Different sizes, different styles, different expectations.

What stays consistent is the care behind it.

The planning. The logistics. The conversations leading up to it. The details most people will never notice, but would absolutely feel if they were not right.

That is what this recognition represents. It represents a team that takes pride in what they do. People who care about the experience just as much as the food. People who want things to feel right, not just look right.

It also represents the relationships built over time. With clients, venues, and partners across the city. That trust is everything in this business, and it is something we take seriously.

As the new owner of The Classic Catering People, Alex Mathov says “Stepping into a company with this kind of history comes with real responsibility. My job is not to change what made this company great. It is to protect it, build on it, and make sure the next 40 years are even stronger.”

That perspective shapes how we think about growth, our team, and every event we are trusted with.

There is a lot to be proud of in this moment.

But more than anything, it is a reminder to keep going. Keep paying attention. Keep getting better.

Because at the end of the day, we are not just putting events together.

We are part of moments that matter to people.

And that is something we will always take seriously.
