When we randomly selected our latest #ClassicAroundTown winner and went to find her comment, we realized this one was extra special.

Our winner was Wendy Scherer. And 32 years ago, Wendy and her husband had The Classic Catering People cater their wedding.

She remembers that dinner so clearly. It was small, about 25 people. The meal started with a squash soup served inside a squash, which honestly sounds very us. But what she remembers most is being surrounded by the people she loved the most, many of whom are no longer with us.

More than three decades later, Wendy entered our Valentine’s Day giveaway “on a fluke.” She shared that she thinks about Classic when she sees the road signs we sponsor, and when she saw the giveaway she thought, that would be so fun to win. Why not enter?

And she did.

After enjoying their Valentine’s Day dinner, she told us it wasn’t just about the food. The meal led to so many conversations about their wedding and their life together. She said it’s been a really fun ride and that they’re almost to 33 years, and a lot has happened.

There is something so special about that.

To have been part of a couple’s wedding day 32 years ago and then, decades later, to spark memories of that same day through another dinner is the kind of full-circle moment that makes us really, really happy.
