Summer Smiles
Summer Smiles
For years, we’ve had the joy of being part of Camp Open Arms, a program founded under the leadership of Dr. Joshua Abzug, Director of Pediatric Orthopedics at the University of Maryland. The camp creates an unforgettable week of summer for children with limb differences. Hosted at Camp Running Bear in Monkton, it’s a place where kids can focus on fun, friendship, and trying something new in a safe and supportive environment, and we’re always grateful for the chance to contribute to that magic.

This year, the camp embraced a Far East theme, and Chef LeeAnne joined in by teaching campers the art of rolling sushi. With bamboo mats and plenty of fresh ingredients, the kids dove right in, proving that everyone can roll with it when given the chance to try something new. From the focus and excitement of rolling sushi to the smiles that came with cracking open fortune cookies, the day was filled with simple joys. Being part of Camp Open Arms year after year gives us the chance to share our love of food in a meaningful way, creating connections and encouraging creativity. We’re already looking forward to rolling up our sleeves again next year!
